Buying 2012 Foreman Questions - Honda Foreman Forums : Rubicon, Rincon, Rancher and Recon Forum

Hi Everyone, New to the forum, Have a few questions about the 2012 Foreman. My 1998 Foreman has 31,000 Miles on it Still runs had the top end rebuilt last year other than that only oil changes. looked at the new ones the only thing I do not like is the ground clearance. Any issues with that? What about lift kits, Do they lift the hole frame up? What is the best one? does any one make 27inch tires that will fit on the stock rims? Looked art the Yamaha grizzly 550 nice ground clearance but do not like the auto transmission. Honda has the best engine braking. Mostly farm use but I do prospect in the desert southwest for gold and need good ground clearance. Thanks, Bob

tires are really the only mod to give any ground clearance. the lifts just basically allow clearance for larger tires. tire options are limitless, and they'll fit factory wheels just fine.

i have no issues with ground clearance and i run 27's in zilla's... you don't have to replace your stock rim to put on on 27 inch tire as long as you keep your tire width 12 or less you'll be fine.... as far as lift kits there are a few good ones out there, but ssatv seems to be very good, also highlifter, and so on....

stock ride height a problem? not in my experience went alot of places a friends rincon would stock to stock. the 12's also have more clearance than the 11's and a 27in tire will fit fine on a stock rim its when you start lifting your machine that you run into clearance issues, not so much on a foreman being SRA. the only thing that causes any trouble is the rear diff but with a lift kit and some tires you can go anywhere with a little thought.
