I did, mine angles down too. Yours does look funny but not having the plastic on, might be the reason for that.

Maine, I just tried to look at your pics and its kinda blurry so I cant really tell, your fair lead looks good but your winch looks crooked and you may have problems with the cable not spooling right at that angle.

You mention your winch coming with the contactor on the motor itself,
Was this winch remote operated with a keychain type switch?
A few years ago I bought one of them harbor freight winches that had this and I too couldnt fit the winch in my Rubicon with the box hooked to it.
What I did was put the transmitter in my airbox and it worked perfect.

The E-bay ad you posted will convert it tho.
