It would. If I moved anything much bigger than this with the Foreman, I'd buy or build one.

I hire guys to drag big logs. ATVs aren't made for that sort of thing. They use industrial CAT gear (skids, dozers, tractors) to get bigger logs out.

Dragging stuff on flat ground versus up a 40 degree slope makes a big difference. Flat-landers don't know this and thus can be forgiven for their ignorance.

atv_guy, where you from anyways??

I'm thinking of building something like an Indian Travois to load smaller logs and branches onto and drag a bunch out at once. Has anyone ever done this? Travoises look like this:

i was just wondering why you said flat lander. pretty sure the rocky mountains are slightly bigger than the terrain in the east. lol.

i've built a travois similar to that before. they work great. the biggest trick is to have as little of the front of the logs digging. if you drag them with out digging the butts in your gonna be able to pull alot more than if you didn't.

look into building a small "log arch". something that has a hitch and decent tires but that you can just set the logs on top of.

when i used to log, in the off season when it was too muddy for heavy equipment i would take off with my old foreman and get prop logs. prop logs are 7'-12' logs that are used to prop up the ceilings in coal mines. i had a little rigg set up that hooked onto my hitch. it was 3' wide and and little posts coming up the sides of it. i would put 8-10 logs on it and then strap them down and pull them to a landing. most of the trails were to steep to go up forward pulling the little contraption so i would use a bar that i mounted to my racks to suspend it off the ground about 12" while it was still hooked to the ball hitch. then go in reverse up the hills. when i wanted to drag logs i would just unhook it from the rack and load it up. it worked fantastic

Havent done it, but with the leaves on the ground it should slide real easy. Might want to spread the back out a little wider, maybe a couple inches short of the width of your quad. JM2C
