Default foreman 500 throttle cable getting haot

I have a 2007 foreman 500. The throttle cable gets hot, I omed it and it has voltage going through it. I ve checked both grounds and they seam to be good. Dont know where to look for the short. Anyone with any ideals

Welcome to the forum. That's where I would start, unplugging the carb heater.

Unhooked the carb heater and the short went away, not sure how it works ohmed it and it is closed, ohmed the one off my 2006 and it was closed too??? I have a good ground from the heater plug , So should I order a new one and will it hurt to leave it unplugged

Leave it unplugged, there are many of them running around without them hooked up because the wires broke at the heater.

Relheok, I'll see if I can find something that can explain it better than me but ya, it's a little heating element in the front of the carb that is suppose to aid it in cold weather riding. I've never noticed a difference though with them working or not.

i dont think they really work but it sure is nice to have something warm the bowl to make the fire burn better.... hehe
