Default Foreman or Rubicon?

Hey everyone!

I just found this forum and it looks awesome! I'm going to buy a new Honda tomorrow. I can get a new 2011 Rubicon or a new 2012 Foreman for the same price. The dealer is trying to clear out 2011 models. If you could get either one (exact same price) which would you buy and why?

I plan to work with it on a farm. Haul wood, winch tree limbs, pull wagons, plow snow, etc. It'll be slow, tough work on rocky, steep hills. I won't ride trails or hunt with it. Basically, it'll be a tractor in places too rough to get a tractor into

Thanks for any advice!

Welcome to the forum! i'd get the 2012 foreman. i love the way it looks and the fact that it has fuel injection and liquid cooled. it has a bit more power than the previous 500's. and plus i don't care too much about the hondamatic transmission. its non-serviceable. and can cost alot to replace if it goes out. i've never cared to much about an automatic transmission on a fourwheeler. i'd rather go with the foreman because its less stuff to mess up. but every one has their own opinion and thats my opinion. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the quick feedback guys! I'm leaning toward the Foreman because of the fuel-injection and simpler transmission. The only reason I was considering the Rubicon was the strong engine and the fact that my friends rave about the transmission on steep hills. I'll be working a lot on steep, rocky hills.

Thanks again!

on the new foreman's, i don't think you'll have ANY problem, on ANY hill, in first gear.

They are both heavily weighted on the work side of things, more so the Foreman than the Rubicon solely because of the trans.

Awesome is a pretty strong word. I wouldn't throw that around to easily. Good, dependable, reliable, strong, and tough, are all appropriate terms IMO, but not awesome.
