Ps- the oil drips were not from my oil change. I took off the skid plate and could see where it was dripping. Took it to a shop and had the front cover seal for the output shaft replaced. Part was $13 and labor $110.

For future reference, something like an output shaft seal can be done in about a half-hour on your own driveway. Dozen guys on this forum that can walk you through it easy for the next time.

i agree with steve on this one pluss i dont think you need to take off the front cover to change a front output shaft seal ......you go screwed for $110 labor IMO

I hope he just means the seal that is in the front cover. If you stand the thing up on end, pull a couple bolts on the front diff, pop a boot off and pull the front diff, and drive-shaft, forward a few inches you can pop that seal out with a little flat head screwdriver with a little divit ground into on side. Oil the new one, replace it carefully, not nicking the rubber, and use an appropriate size socket to tap it in square, you are done. No major disassembly required. Easy and done right, 'cause you did it yourself.
