My starter has been acting up lately so I took it off and found that the starter brush on the positive side is coming up short(wore out). Has any body ever changed the starter brushes on theirs. I guess Im looking for advice but then again how hard can it be. They were only $3.73 for both shipped.

That's cheap, is that the solder on kind?

I've always bought the ones that are already soldered from Honda and off Ebay can't tell both wore the same. Fairly straight foreward just don't break the washer under the nut and find a third hand to reassemble.

you can bring it to a starter shop also. I had my dad's rancher's starter rebult for 60$.

I would think so. I ordered them from partspitstop right off the schematic, they didnt list the assembly as one like I thought it was going to be.

should have bought a whole starter rebuild kit for 20 bucks off ebay instead of just replacing the brushes

Thought about it but everything else on the starter is mint.

Well I got my brush springs today, lol. Thats why they were so cheap they were only springs

so I found a place to order the whole brush assembly and it costed $36 shipped. Now thats more like it.
