Default 2012 Honda Foreman 500 Pictures/overview

2012 Foreman ES

This is the front brakes. The rotars have been increased to decrease the stopping distance. I did not measure the distance, but hitting the brakes going 50 I can say that they are a little better than my 2009. I know for a fact I can lock up all wheelers on a hard dirt surface.

Here are a few pictures of the front suspension and drive train. The frame has been modified in the front to accommodate the radiators you will be able to see. The shocks are fully adjustable so you can do some customization of your ride.

This is a picture of the lower front without the skid plate. One change they did make is instead of having two diffrerent skid plates they made one long one. This does help with sticks and mud getting under the plates.

Now for the rear end. They changed from 2 shock absorbers to 1 larger one. It is also fully customizable. Still one drum brake on the right side. They put the radiator reservoir in the back next to the storage box (which they made smaller). The air intake position has changed. It seems REALLY easy to run a snorkel now. Another big difference that I noticed is the driveshaft is not incased. It is open with a skid plate under it. I am not sure how I like that. Here are some pictures

This is the reservoir and air intake.

The digital gauge format has changed. This picture was taken right after my first ride.

Now for the measurements.

These are to give you an idea of the space from the front end to the radiator.

The is to show the space between the front tire and the fenders.

These are to show the space for the back tire

I forgot to post this one on the first post. This is a picture of the rearend to show the welded skidplate / reinforcement for the driveshaft / frame

Pictures of the ride height.

Nice pics! I noticed on my '12 that the hitch is too small for the 2" ball I bought for it. I'm assuming we could remove those bolts attached to the rear axle and add a class hitch/receiver. However, I don't know if anything like that has been fabricated for the 2012, or maybe it's the same hitch design as previous Foremans. Does anybody know?

If you look at the picture for the reservoir and air intake it is the black box with 418 on it.

Plus they make a special ball for the wheeler. It is the same size as my 09. You will have to look around. I found mine at tractor supply.

The box that contains the filter is yes. But the intake that goes into the box with the filter is above the rear right wheel.

I will try and show ya.

This is under the seat.

But connected to that is the intake for the air which is located above the rear wheel. here. It is the black box with 418 written on it.

In this image you can see the connection of the intake to the filter box. It is on the right.

So how do you feel about the single shock in the rear vs. the dual shocks on the older Foremans? Also, why no IRS?

The heavier shock makes up for the two shocks on older models. I would say they are very similiar in rides but you can adjust this one. I don't remember beign ablet o do that with the older models.

What is IRS? Not great with acronyms.
