Default 2005 foreman fan on/off switch

i have read multiple threads on this but have not found one that gives a straight forward answer. i tried splicing in to the blue and green wires above the pull start but when i flip the switch the brake lights came on. please help me figure out this problem.

Are you putting a manual switch for the fan on/off. if you are conect to the wire on the sending unit. at the rear and bottom of motor this is a grounding system.

I have it done but sure haven't seen any write ups on it. Let us know if luvbug's method works correctly for you.

Shouldn't the fan still come on whenever it's needed? Or is there a problem with the sensor?
