Default Foreman 500 cv joint replacement

My front right cv joint seems to be going since there is slight side to side play when i grab the axle. How long do you think it will last before needing replacement. Can you repair it or do you need to buy a complete cv joint with axle? What are my options for replacing it? Should I go honda oem or aftermarket?

thanks

Are you positive its the cv and not the wheel bearing? And to answer your ?? Yes usually u can buy a kit to fix. Typically i buy oem but you can find them in the net. Sometimes u can also find parted out fourwheelers on ebay. I bought the whole axle for one i was working on a week ago for 56$ off ebay. Good luck hope it helped.

I've had pretty good luck with the EPI joints, they are priced fair and not bad to replace. I can get more in depth about the switching of them when I have a little more time. Just bump the thread so I see it.

I think it is the cv joint because I just replaced the wheel bearing. If there is side to side play when you grab the axle is that a symptom of a bad cv joint?

Yes, the outer cv joint should have no play in it. The inner is designed to float in/out with the suspension but the outer should have no play.
