Default angle sensor

hey all new to forums signed up about a month ago promised pictures and finally got them up tonight. i have a red foreman 500 09' , swamp fox tires and ams rims. well went for a couple rides and got 180 miles on my wheeler. the other day i went to back it out of the shed and got out and tried to shift into 1st gear and it went into gear but stayed there, the gear indicator light was flashing and it wouldn't shift anymore. took it in for warranty service and they said its the angle sensor. well its all fixed now was just wondering if this happens alot or is just a freak kinda thing? also could anyone take a picture of this sensor so i have some kind of idea as to where its located? well any help will be good check out my pics

It's located on the front crankcase cover right beside of the shift motor. It's #24 in the diagram below.

Pretty common for that. What did the dealer charge you? And welcome to the forum....

happened to me yesterday for the First time, have been getting her wet from riding last few days!

All I did to fix it is turn off the key switch, give it about a minute (1-5 minutes is normal) and switched her back on and finished the ride another 40 miles with multi-stops and turning the engine off and on And changing gears!

but the simplest way to view the angle sensor is to TURN OFF the Gas and stand it up in its rear, drop the belly plate .......it will be just above eye level

Good Luck
Glide

PS: I do remember that I was trying to eat a sandwich (while driving VERY slow) and was shifting with my knuckle.....so I may not have pushed in hard enough on the shift switch to fully engage it (you know even a ele switch needs X amount of pressure to make it work fully) So my thoughts were it just didn't get enough electric to make it fully engage & she got stuck between gears, so by turning off the Quad it was able to re-set its self!
