I'd totally be out to Hondafest if it weren't my truck club's monthly meet. If you and Lisa are feeling better after all the doc visits, I'll work on getting to TN since it's next door to NC and sounds like you have neat trails. My project and family is in NC so I'd spend some time away from home if it meant I got to meet/ride.

I'm so excited to be going out to Cali end of month and finally get to take my truck off-road. So getting this quad was a big deal since I have a friend that can show me the dunes and guide me in technique on both vehicles. It's all his fault the truck got lifted so it'll be worth it to make the Pismo event. I just feel more comfy riding with someone in case I need help.

BTW - you're not old, silly.....

I do like the ITP SS212 black rims too though...
For a trail machine I would go with Bear Claws over the other 2 choices. They will ride smoother and last longer yet still will perform in a variety of terrain. Big Horns would be another choice.

Tee your going to have to learn throttle control in the sand. The Mudlites do good in it but a little too much throttle at the wrong time they will dig down fast.

^^^^ Yeah I asked if I could ride sand with Mudlites. Thanks for the info to go along with it cuz I can see the rear sinking now....

Dumb question but in 2WD..is it the front two or the rear two?

I've never had Big Horn tires, but I did have the Bear Claws on my '99 Recon. I was 100% satisfied with them too... Do you really think the Bear Claws would be "enuff" tire for a 4x4 ATV? Remember, it's "swampy" down here in South Louisiana!

Between the MudLites, Zillas and Bear Claw in the 26 tire size I would choose the BearClaws over the others for mostly trail riding. They will outperform the MudLites hands down (IMO) and ride smoother than the Zillas. The zillas are a good tire but dig really fast when you do get into the soft stuff. When you get into the 26 size the claws have a deeper tread depth also. I run MudBugs for trail and mud use and am completely satisfied with them for what I use them for (everything from snow, hard pack, mud, water, sand, some asphalt and a mixture of stuff that stinks to no end and is bottomless ).

Since we're on topic of tires...what's the best use for the MudLites? Sorry to jack your thread, Travis.
