I recently had my engine apart on my foreman. When I put it back together there was a washer that had fallen out and I didn't know where it went. So when I put it back together I left it out and thought I'd just wait and see what happens. Well, it ran fine, shifted a little harder, and I lost that "neutral" in between gears. Oh, and I forgot to mention, this was on the front of the engine (clutch area). So after a few months now I decided to set it on the back rack and find out where it went. Well, I thought I had it figured out but it wouldn't shift into gear after I was done. So I took it back out and was just going to ride it like it was when it was shifting harder. Its back together now and won't move. When I shift into gear it jerks as if its in gear, but it won't move. I don't know what I did and am open to suggestions.

If the clutch free play adjustment happens to be out of adjustment bad, it can keep it from moving to begin with. That might not be your problem, but I thought I would mention that. But if you've already tried adjusting it, then I guess it's not the problem.

There are 2 washers on the shift shaft and one on the crankshaft (centrifugal clutch). Beings it a shifting issue I'll guess it's one for the shift shaft, one sits against the crankcase (against the center/front of the motor) and the other sits on the end of the shaft after all the components are installed.
