I'm having concerns about my Honda Rubicon and a lot of people told me now that the transmission in these things are a problem. I'm having shifting issues right now and i think it my be the tranny failing. I need this quad for working around the house and plowing snow, but I think I'm going to be looking at something else that is a little more reliable than that transmission. What about the foreman? Is it a good work bike? Does it have the lo end power that the Rubicon got for pushing snow, or pulling a load or should i just look at something like a Grizzly that i know will have to power to do the job.

IMO....the Rancher or Foreman with the manual shift or even electronic shift is a great workhorse and does what it is supposed to. Anything with variable or belt driven is NOT good for pulling or pushing day in and day out.

Can't go wrong with any Honda atv but for manual labour.....a Foreman out does anything on the market imo...

Plain and simple, Redcrew71 hit it spot on. Personally I think the older 450 foremans were the real workhorses. As for the rubicon I havn't known anybody that's had issues with the tranny. I know a few of my buddies won't ride anything but a rubicon. From what I see the Rubicon is just a hydraulic pump and well...you have to keep the fluid clean and spotless. I guess you could have electrical issues with the motor that drives the slosh plate on the output side of the tranny but I'm not to experianced so I can't help with that one. In the end it's hard to go wrong with a honda, just get the model that fits your use.
