Just got a 09 Foreman, foot shift with power steering. BTW don't knock power steering until you've tried it. It is nice.

Anyway that front plastic had to go. I like the stock look so I went from there. Cut out the center mount ears, added a center piece of pipe, used some half inch expanded metal to fill it in. For now I put the lower poece of plastic on as it does add some protection. I may cut it down lower as it does offer some protection.

I added the class 1 receiver in the middle because I use a multi mount winch on mine, most of the time I leave the winch off. And actually I use it more on the rear of the atv.

Some pics...

Very nice! I wish I was that talented. I just ended up buying the aluminum products plate which has worked out pretty good.

I'm hoping so to. My 1999 King Quad was stolen and I dearly miss that ATV(I had insurance!!). Mostly utility, the low gear range, diff lock, fit my needs.

When I went shopping I looked at the 09 Rancher (foot shift and power steering) at the same time. I actually switched back and forth TWICE while at the dealership. The rancher had fuel injection and was water cooled. The rancher was very quick(not all what I needed), but the tranny is a wider ratio, no low first gear. The rancher also has NO pull start. You can add one for about $200 the sales guy said. This was a big strike against the rancher. I have gone up to the camp more than once and found the battery dead...as in it will not take a charge. Instead of taking time to find a battery, I pulled started it all weekend with no problem. The rancher with FI does start a lot easier on a cold morning. My 03 rancher is cold natured to.

In the end I liked the 3rd headlight(now blocked by my rack, the instrument panel I liked better, the pull starter, and the slight bigger size. Also what sealed the deal is we loaded in into my pickup and I could close the tailgate. I have a 8' bed but a Tractor supply 16" deep toolbox. Once the tailgate closed I said I'll take this one! With my bumper mod it's even slightly shorter the way the plastic sticks out.

Thanks,
Rob
