i have a 2008 foreman 500... just ordered a HMF utility and i have a new K&N filter sitting in my garage. so when i put the pipe on can i get away with just replacing the main jet or do i have to have the whole DynoJet jet kit installed? im in houston and my house is about 90 feet above sea level if that helps.

I personally would get the DJ kit since it comes with a new needle, spring, air/fuel tool as well as the new main jets. It's nice being able to tune the carb completely. I have tried just a main on mine and it just seems to perform better with the DJ kit.

A DJ kit would be better but you will be fine just replacing the main jet as long as you adjust the A/F screw.

its best to do all three stages at the same time on the carb when you install a pipe and filter. idle to 1/4 throttle the mixture screw, 1/4 to 3/4 throttle needle, and full (wot) main. so that your carb will be uniform when delivering the fuel. besides if you just change your main jet and adjust the ide mixture then chances are you will be running lean 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. and for most people that ride this is where you usually have the throttle at.

after i installed my pipe, it lookes crooked... is this normal? everything seems to be lined up right. also; at a certain rpm it sounds like something within the pipe is rattling, its kind of a hard sound to explain, but it only happens at a certain rmp and goes away, maybe its just b/c its a new pipe? any one with a similar experience?

i put a couple washers in between the pipe's mounting tab and the frame and a lock washer on there, and its still kinda cocked sideways... is it just me or is that how it is supposed to be?

both of the pipes on my foremans are kinda crooked like that. havent really paid any attention to anyone elses but think they are all like that you could always try to twist it up a little and see if that helps
