stuck in first gear

sometimes usually after going in reverse my 04 honda foreman 500 just stays in first gear and wont come out of it unless i shut her off and start up again and the problem is gone. there is a brand new shifter motor on the bike as well.

Foeman/Rubicon( automatic)? Is the indicator flashing when it's messing up?

sometimes yes... foreman rubicon automatic and always in 4 wheel drive.

Count the flashes. Should be a pattern. For example, 1 long, 4 short is error code 14.

I don't have the 01-04 manual saved, but it's on that site.


Look in the transmission section for error codes.


I don't see error code 22 here. Maybe Toodeep can shed some knowledge on that.
