I have a 2016 Honda foreman 500 I have had it 3 months and both seals where the driveshafts come out of the engine are leaking and my local honda dealership says it's not under warranty because they don't warranty seals what do you guys think i
If both final shaft seals on a new machine are leaking I would guess there is a decent chance there is something wrong with the shaft itself, like it's bent or not concentric for some reason or another issue allowing it to wobble. Since that shaft is one piece of steel going through both ends of the machine and both seals are leaking my bet is on the shaft or bearing(s).
I would think this is under warranty (as has been mentioned already)
They called honda sent picks and everything honda said its not covered I bought the bike from a dealership with 28 inch intimadators and snorkels but it has no lift the only mod I have done is radiator relocater and I bought the extended warranty the guy told me that anything I did to it would not void the warranty unless what I did caused it to fail the dealer I bought it from is about 5 hours away is the reason I didn't carry it to them but I'm going to call them
some times dealer will warranty things THEY do to the bike to make the sale, yet another dealer will NOT
due to they didn't make the $$ at the time of the sale
I know this sucks, but its a business practice in today's world
any time NON OEM parts are used they can CLAIM< it caused the issue of many things
larger tires add stress to drive train, due to heavier and more aggressive and BLAH BLAH BLAH
as there NOT OEM sized
they can use that as a way out of covering things??
MOST dealer tend to turn a blind eye to things, to get the work and keep folks happy, but some WON"T and don't
its there call from what I know
I know a local dodge dealer that sells trucks with a lift on them and big tires, and will warranty things , yet if you go to another dealer they won't
so its kind of a like a dealer sale set up , to keep you coming back to them IF you have issue's that is??
So I called the dealer I bought it from and the guy got with honda and the reason they denied the warranty was water intrusion but I have never had water in the oil
Honda warranty is just like any other ATV brand, not worth the paper it's written on.
