Here is what I have: 2006 450 Foreman with snow blade. and a warn wench. 300 mile 150 hours
Problem: It was running fine then the display started fading in and out in a fast manner. Then the unit just shut down. Here is what I noticed: 1) the unit would not turn over. 2) the solenoid by the battery would click click click when you tried to start it. 3) the battery voltage would drain down to nothing when pushing the button to start, still the enigine would not turn over. Here is what I trouble shot and found out. 1) the bat. voltage would drop down from 13v to nothing when the starter button was pressed. 2) the solenoid was opening and doing what it was supposed to ( all current to flow when button was pressed). 3) battery bad 4) solenoid Good Now I hooked up a different 12 volt battery just to test things. 1) the engine will now turn over 2) it will not start 3) the warn wench will not opererate at all Checked the spark plug NO SPARK Not sure why the wench won't work. I will replace the solenoid on that here in a bit. What are your thoughts out there? I have an idea but I want to see what you guys come up with first Thanks Jim |

They didnt make a 450 in 06 so Im assuming its a 500. I would check the fuses and change the spark plug.

there were three things going on witht the unit.
Here is answer to them 1) the battery had a bad cell Replaced. 2) The warn solenoid had a loose connection. Tightened 3) The no spark was becasue the stupid safety button by the start push button got bumped. Three things all at once. That was only the start of a bad day. Thanks Jim |
