Default More ES problems '04

Ok, I replaced the meter and everything worked great for a few miles. Now, I'm getting the three flashes. Should I change the angle sensor? The part where it says "or ecu" kinda scares me...

I wouldn't even know where to start on that, lol. Any suggestions? And it's working again now, after quitting for about 15 minutes. Does that mean anything? Unit has less than 700 miles if that matters.

was it wet before you shut it down ?if so it may have dryed a conection out and made a good electrical contact .....dielectric grease in the conections will fix your problem

That's a good thought, it is raining here. I just replaced the valve cover gasket because it leaked after I set the valves the other day. I took it out for about a mile in the rain after putting it back together and that's when it quit shifting. got it back in the garage and after sitting for a few minutes it started working again...

The only connection I've had apart was the one for the meter, could it cause that?

i think its one of the connectiong for the ES ....shift motor ,angle sensor (both connections are in the front of the motor) ...but i would grease every conection on the wheeler man (there area bunch under the right rear fender also )

That sounds like a job for the next time I have to do any work on it for sure. I just had the front fenders and a bunch of crap off so I really don't want to get into something big right now, lol!

I will see about greasing those two and see if it makes a difference. It's the girlfriend's ride now and she really wants to go Saturday, but I'm not off work again until Friday night...

Ok Rich, as soon as I get home I'm tearing the thing apart and grease those connections. I've confirmed that everything works great when dry so hopefully this will fix it. Any tips or tricks? This may also be a good time to steal the Warn off it for my '12. LOL!
