Default 450R crb on a 450s **** yea !!!!

I finnaly swaped to the 450R carb!!!

Well i can tell ya it is a verry worth while improvement with the rear boot off the carb!!!
Max RPM, killer throttle responce from the accelerator pump, more HP and TQ over the board !!!
it even sorta sounds like a R now LOL !!!!!

The swap went good with little parts needed.

The R carb is a tite fit in the engine boot but a heat gun made it a snap, you will need a bigger clamp also.

as for the throttle cable all i did on the carb end is remove adjuster from old carb and spin the jamb nut off the adjuster, then thread the adjuster all the way in on the R carb.

The jamb nut then goes on the remainder of threads sticking out on the inside of the carb.

as for the throttle end i had to remove the jamb nut (put in a safe place if you want to go back to stock,) then I cut a 1/2 inch off the adjuster threads with a pnumatic saw (not cut off wheel) be careful no to harm the inner cable.

Then thread the adjuster without jamb nut all the way into the throttle housing, it will leave enough slack in the cable just like factory.

A piece of 3/8 fuel line and a adapter took care of the fuel inlet miss mach.

if you get a compete carb then the choke cable works just like factory once you swap cable to the R carb.

450R carb has 2 chokes one cable and a yellow lever on carb.

the air box and filter all fit fine too,but it saps the power quite a bit.
Rear boot is a bit tite but heat gun it and no problem, new clamp too.

Im gonna try some snorkel mods and a better filter and see if i can get it dialed in better and still be able to take it threw the drink.

As for jetting it seemes good stock maybe a bit fat but once the weather warms up im gonna tune her in after some breathing mods to the air box and snorkel.

my carb came from a 05 450R not shure if other years work.
02 450s is what i swaped it on.

send messages if ya have any more questions.

I might have pics later.
