Default ripping boots

I have a 4" lift on my 450 and I keep tearing my boots I got a 2" hl lift then I put on 2" spring spacers that's when the boots started tearing I can see that my axles are at a sharp angle but I like the extra ground clearance I was wondering if anyone else has ever come across this and what I might be able to do to prevent replacing boots but keeping my ground clearance

Rich450es or SSpeckerwood would be the one to ask on that one, hopefully they'll chime in for ya. But most guys would recomend getting rid of the spring spacers.

I doubt you have a true 4" of lift. Just because you have 2" spring spacers doesn't mean it's giving you 2" more lift. If you were getting 1" I'd be impressed. Your stock front axles will max out at around 3" of lift anyway, the axle bars start hitting the outside of the CV cup. What's probably going on is that the CV's are at such a steep angle they rubber is rubbing holes in itself. There is nothing you can do besides take of the spring spacers. and/or lift, OR go with some HD axles with thicker boots.

Or if you have some $$ burning a hole in your pocket, you could build a custom 4" lift with all new extended a-arms and rear swing arm. This would keep the axles at a decent angle but still give you the lift you want.

I just suggested them to mamber "tank" but he on the other hand is a big guy. He wants them to take the sag out of it by stiffening it up a bit.

Honestly I would get rid of them, its really not giving you any more GC at all, just stiffening up your springs a bit. Either that or make them 1" instead of 2" for a while and see how that treats you. You might find that 1" makes a great deal of change, and you should notice a lil better ride quality too.

you can take foreman 500 (05-11)inner CV joints and put them on you foreman 450 cv shaft (the foreman 500 cups arent as long and relives the angel a little on the axle shafts)and might stop them from rubbing trew as quick .

the lip on the cup is less on the 500 cv so you can have you axle at a more extream angle and will bind less ...........anything else ?
