Unhappy Stuck in gear??

I have a 2002 Rancher 450S 4x4 and love it. I was out of town yesterday and my wife went to plow snow. She called and said that it wouldn't go forward and it felt like the park brake was on. I told her to put it in reverse and it went backward fine, then went into gear fine and she plowed the driveway. After plowing she went to help with the neighbor's drive and it died. I think that I need to have the carb cleaned to get it running but I can not get it into neutral to push it anywhere. If enough people push the tires will roll.....like it is in gear, but the green neutral light comes on and it will turn over and sputter like it is not getting fuel. I think and am hoping that I have 2 seperate problems but any help would be appreciated.

welcome to the forum
check and see what model you have first (never made a RANCHER in a 450)
does the shifter just flop around or does it feel normal but wont switch gears ?

Yeah, sorry. My bad. It is a Foreman not a rancher. The shifter feels tight but doesn't seem to have that "click" like it is going into gear.I know that when you push the "R" button on the brake and pull the brake and push down the shifter, that red "R" light goes on. pull up once and the green "N" light comes on. Pul it up 10-12 times and the green "N" light goes off. Then just push it down once and the green "N" light comes back n. Not sure what is going on.

That is what happened before it died. She went in reverse and then 1. would not go in 1 until it went in r first. then she just plowed so r and 1 only until it died. I had to get help pushing it into the garage becasue I couldn't get it into n. The tire will rol but not easily!! I turn it over and it sparks on the first turn like it always does but won't fire up. Again most likely 2 seperate problems??

Thanks for the schematic. If this proves to be the problem, is this inside where the shifter goes??
