Default 02 Foreman 450es wont open up

i just picked up this 02 trx450fe and the dash panel got busted in an upside down crash. i replaced all the handlebars and switch and cleaned the carb and put on a new battery and such. the quad idles great but wont get above 1/4 throttle. it kind of just sputters out like its starving for fuel. but everything is in line. ive serviced quads for years but this is my first of this nature with the instruments gauge being busted up and not operational. what i was wondering if the gauge being all busted does anyone know if it will affect the engine in any way or is it strictly for info and thats it. thanks in advance.

to the forum.... I think the cluster is for info only. Should'nt effect the motors performance. Almost sounds as if the main jet is clogged with debris. Sometimes it will take 2-3 good cleanings to finally get them clean.

I don't know if it's me shifting incorrectly or possibly needing to clean the carb, but I sputtered turning a corner on Friday. Ran out of time to go play a bit more this weekend but heard a carb flush takes about 20 minutes and $15 worth of product.

It's a good idea to fill up with fresh gas and pour a little carb cleaner in too. That will keep your carb clean. If it's giving you issues, then it needs to be pulled apart and cleaned.
