I have a 2000 Honda Foreman 450 and the Oil/Temperature light stays on and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. It is Intermittent but even as soon as you start it, it sometimes goes on so its definately not overheating. If you would have the steps on how to fix it that would be wonderful!! I do hear the fan the odd time come on but not too much. Let me know. Thanks

The sensor wire could have fell off or got damaged and it is grounding out but your fan will run every time the light is on with that. Most likely it's the fan control unit, it's the smaller black electrical box under the front fender that is help on with a rubber holder. They are spendy....

I would pull the control unit out first and check the terminals, they tend to let water and mud in corroding the connection.

I have a 02 Foreman ES and that oil lights been coming on for 3-4 years now. Buddy of mines a mechanic at the honda dealer and said they do that. He said its a wire that runs down the side of the motor thats short'n out and it Aint no Biggy. I think he said the wires running down the right side of frame... Welcome to the forum. If the light comes on and the cooling fan doesn't then it is a big deal. That would mean the cooling system isn't working properly and you run the chance of overheating it without knowing. If it's just the systems check when the key switch is just switched to on then that is normal.
Since I ride in a lot of water/mud I have mine set up to be turned on and off manually.
