Put in a DGL!! Haha just kidding Jason! Was there a clicking when you gave it throttle like it was trying to engage, but just wouldn't?

There are 3 plugs coming off the front diff. One I think is on the frame there close to the diff, prolly has water or some other things in it. Pull it apart and clean and it should start working again. My 02 did same thing. By some electrical grease as soon as you can and put it in the plugs you can get to.

One of the first things that I would do is to jack up the front end, and turn the wheels just to make sure everything is turning together. Might have broke a CV joint. I have seen many of these break on the 450's because of their low gears and high torque.

I AM HAVING SAME PROBLEM WITH MY FOREMAN 450.

I SWITCHED INTO 4WD YESTERDAY AND IT MADE A CHATTERING NOISE BUT WOULDNT LOCK IN.

NOW THE 4X4 LIGHT COMES ON WITH THE SWITCH BUT THE FRONT CLUTCH CONTROL (FCC) ONLY MAKES A CLICKING NOISE.

I CLEANED AND GREASED THE GREEN PLUG ON THE FCC AND IT STILL DOESTHE SAME THING.

I REFERED TO THESE FOREMS AND MY SERVICE MANUAL, THE MANUAL SAID IF THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THE 4X4 LIGHT WILL BLINK BETWEEN 2-6 TIMES DEPENDING ON PROBLEM. MINE DOES NOT BLINK UNLESS I UNPLUG THE FCC.

NEXT I PLAN ON GOING THROUGH ALL THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS, BUT I THINK THE FCC IS BAD OR THE 4X4 LIGHT WOULD FLASH.

ANY SUGESTIONS WILL HELP.

I have a 2002 Honda Foreman that has set in garage for several years, recently got it out to get it going again. My 4WD does not work nor does the red light for it come on, the shop manual says that it will blink a code on what is wrong but my light does not even come on, the fuse is good. I may try the electrical grease.
Thanks for any help in the future,

Welcome to the forum.

Battery good? If so, check your connections on the front diff.
