Good day.
Just bought a used 96 Foreman 400 and need to make a few repairs. I need to replace the front and rear wheel bearings and I was going to get them at a bearing shop instead of Honda. Anyone know the bearing dimensions? I was goign to pick them up before I start. What about the inner and outer seals? Are the inner and outer seals different? Do bearing shops normally carries these? Thanks in advance. |

welcome to the forum !
sorry man i dont know. but i dont know if you will save any money doing it this way . it may be cheeper but if you take it apart and get the NSN off the bearings and bring in the seals and get them measured .the bearing parts house should be able to help you out .

Well, went to the Honda dealer for a few other parts. The parts guy told me they had after market (All Balls) wheel bearing kits. For the price I figured it wasn't worth the hassle and numerous trips back and forth to the bearing shop.
Time to get to work....... |

I went with All Balls bearings when I replaced my Rubicon rear bearings.
Not only are they sealed on both sides, but they come with a really cool sticker too and I applied it to the top of very scratched up headlight. We have a place called Motion Industries in town that can usually get any bearing and seal you need. The last time I used this place was for the rear output shaft seal on my 98 450. The guy took measurements and went to look it up and told me he couldnt help me and ask me what its for and when I told him a Honda ATV, he said unlike yamaha, suzuki, and other manufactures, Honda makes some of there bearing and seals in weird sizes and you have to order from the dealer. There are aftermarket companies that make the wear and tear items like wheel bearings and seals but my Output shaft seal was a honda only item.
