I clean the old filter and reuse it when flushing water out. I use waste oil to flush the motor also, works a lot faster than new oil.
As far as it getting into the motor that can be many things from a seal that is a little damaged (check the shifter shaft seal) or a case cover not completely sealed (where the stator wiring comes out of the motor is a good place to check). |
