Default lightly burning oil / smoking

here is my other issue I am having with the scooter. Last summer after my dad gave me the 97 400, I rebuilt the top end, bored .50 over, including valve job, new seals, rings etc. it ran perfect for the first 3 months. then stupid me, moved a big utility trailer around the yard with it, and now whenever i first give it some gas (put a load on the motor) it puffs out the blue smoke for just a second or 2, then no more smoke.

I hate to tear everything down again and start over. is there any ideas out there that might save me some time?

If it's not that bad I would ride it until it got worse.

why would moving a trailer around the yard contribute to oil-burning?

Was the machine warmed up when you did this? If not that could have cause a ring to scratch the cylinder wall due to lack of oil circulating around the top end.
