Wierd discharge from motor breather - Honda Foreman Forums : Rubicon, Rincon, Rancher and Recon Forum

Today while riding, I noticed a gurgling and discharge from the breather cominn off the side of the motor (I guess it is the crank case breather). It started spitting out what look like dirty oil/water mix and making a gurgling sound. I checked the oil via the dipstick and it was clean with no water or debris. I took the breather off of where it attaches to the motor and there was the same looking liquid there too but it was pouring out or anything. Any ideas on what this could be? I was in absolutely no water today and it has never done this before.

remember dont screw the dipstick in to the case .

the breather hose should be attached to both the air box and crank case. if it wasn't attached and dirt and water got in there wont be long be4 a motor rebuild. if it was spitting out dirty oil then most likely the oil isn't good

The breather is ran up into the 3rd headlight. When I got the bike it just had a small breather hose about 5" long going straight down. No water or dirt got it in. The oil level was low though, low enough to not even register on the dipstick. The oil itself is clean though.

on the foreman 400 from 95 to 98 (or 99 i cant remember ) the crank case vent line was NOT routed into the air box .it ran up under the seat

i have seen oil get pumped out the breather because the motor had a broken ring and preasure from the compression stroke would sneek buy the broken ring and blow oil out the breather .....
i would do a compreson test ....ill bet its low
