Default foreman 400 engine or clutch? cant tell

i have a 97 honda foreman 400 with highlifter bbk,epi comp clutch springs, dynojet,28" 589s cobra modifield exhaust. i havent riddien it for about a week and i pulled it of the garage and let it warm up (i live in northern pa) and i started of easy then when i shifted into second and slammed it, theres was no jolt or nothing it just slowly gained speed which it never does usually it will pop the front end up. the new springs have about 250 miles on them and the fourwheeler has about 6600 miles on it (i know thats a bit but would the clutch just start slipping in between 2 rides?) i really dont wanna spend the money for a new clutch. could the engine have lost power? i really cant tell. i have ran penzoil 10w 40 in it for about 4 years and i know thats the wrong oil but the nearest dealership is about 50 miles away and i dont have a car ( im only 14) could the clutch just need adjusted? thanks for the help in advance Marcus.

welcome to the forum
IMO the clutches are burnt up !
honda tells you to run a certin oil and if you dont then parts are going to fail
the only thing i can say is adjust the clutch and put the right oil in it
if that doesnt help you will need to replace the clutches

Mine is doing something similar. It's like my engine is not revving as quick as it should. Then if I leave it for 10 mins it's fine. It actually dis it today. I can't think what it is. Maybe crap in the carb. Iv not had a chance to check it yet
