Default Im new with a clutch question

I have a 96 foreman 400 that i got from a buddy. It needed a little work so i took my time and went completely through the brakes and I also went completely through the carb. Its seems to have all started when I changed the oil and filter. It ran fine and still does but it seems that my clutches arent working (I guess). They aren't slipping its just when i shift its like it doesn't have a clutch at all. I thought that when you pressed the shifter it engaged the clutches allowing it to shift seamlessly but it seems this is no longer the case. Now it just jerks into gear and I have actually held the shifter down to see if it was still pulling and it was. I have tried adjusting it and nothing seems to help. Is there any sort of friction additive like what goes in the rear end of a truck? Im confused on which way I should go.. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

idel is fine, its every gear. I just dont want to have to put clutches in it. I just cant understand why it worked fine and after a little while with new oil it starts hard shifting. I was thinking maybe a friction modifier would solve the problem.

Welcome to the forum. Did you adjust the clutch properly? You want to turn the screw counterclockwise until resistance is felt and then a 1/4 turn clockwise.

What kind of oil do you all recommend. The oil i used is castrol actevo x-tra 4t sae 10w-40 part synthetic. Is this good? the guy at my local honda shop gave this to me and told me to run it.
