I was on the phone with an old school dealer of honda. He said it went up into a loop with an air filter to let air in and the other end went down to a one way drain similar to the 1 of the bottom of the carburetor that does let water in. Solution is to tap a nipple into air box like the 99 and up models did. Easy enough.

Just adjusted valve clearance. They were pretty loose. It got rid of the ticking up top. Brand new plug was already pretty back so I guess thats a fuel adjustment?
It still seems loud down low. More knocking than I remember. Could this be a timing issue. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the cluctch so it will move. I have never done any kind of clutch work. Is it that difficult? Should I just order friction plates and a gasket and dig in? Or could it be the pads on the other clutch. I'm just not figuring out how they work together from the manual and reading old post for a week. Any tips would be appreciated. |
