My dad has a '98 Foreman 400 and needs to replace the muffler. Where's a good place to get aftermarket mufflers for these things? How much should he expect to spend?

i'd do a search for the fo-14 tractor pipe. it'll be louder but it will yield more power

I like the oem because its quiet. But I had a HFM on my 450 foreman it was a lot louder but you can buy a quiet core I'd suggest jetting also so it doesnt back fire (I didnt jet it should have) and was $275. I would just leave it and have a bark. The oem is $350 OEM Parts Honda FOURTRAX FOREMAN (TRX400FW) 1998 MUFFLER - Cheap Cycle Parts

Wow! That seems obscene for a muffler.

The oems are really expensive! The muffler for my foreman is $200 oem. I guess its the older it is the more expensive the parts are. This is the HMF. HMF Utility Series Slip-on - by HMF Engineering - Polished - Cheap Cycle Parts
You have 3 options
1.) buy the oem for $350
2.) buy the HMF for $280 and have to rejet
3.) leave it as it is for nothing

i bought a mufflere from a 05 yamaha r-1 off craigs list for $25 and welded it on a pipe i had made at a muffler shop .......$40 total spent and didnt need to rejet it

Nice is it loud with a good tone? It might not need to be rejeted.

kinda like a ricer? I like the deep deep tone of pickups I'd want mine to sound like that.
