ill give you a step by step on how i do all mine and have never had a problem with.
supplies needed:vacuum hose i get the kind at home depot, 2 inch pvc pipe with a 90 or 180 whichever you prefer, about 4 inches of 1.5 in pvc pipe, a rubber pipe connector with 1.5 inch inner diameter, and i use this stuff called lexel it is sold at home depot and it is like silicone but perfect for snorkeling, you need a fair amount of it step one remove your air box and insert the 1.5 inch pipe into the air intake make sure it is clean and seal it up around that pipe with the lexel or whatever sealant you get step two take the rubber pipe connector and attach it to your vacuum hose and seal it to the hose replace your air box and place the rubber connector onto the pipe in the air box and tighten it down so it doesnt leak. step 3. cut a hole in your plastic under the front rack. and run the the hose up through it. now you need a piece of metal with a hole slightly greater than 2 inches in it that you can bolt to your rack weld a vertical piece to that for stablilization and stick the hose up through the plastic and the hole in the metal run it into your 2 inch pvc cut it to length and zip tie the hose to your frame and attach the snorkel to the vertical piece of metal you welded using u bolts or whatever you can zip ties will even work put your 90 or 180 on and your airbox is snorkeled. then run the ventlines there is one on the carb one on each diff and one on the crankcase use this requires several diferent sizes of small hose. be sure to get the one on your gas tank and seal the overflow on the bottom of your carb. make sure everything is going to stay and is dry before you hit the water and have fun. ps snorkels dont work upside down in the flint river trust me.

They actually make a threaded male end connector for the 1.5 pool or spa hose. I just used a sealing lock nut on mine with a hose clamp on the outside and some silicone. I have never had a problem yet.

yeah snorkeling is really up to your personal preferences and what works for you i just like the rubber connector to the airbox because you can remove the snorkel and not have to redo any seals
