All it takes is one little piece of dirt in the carb. It doesnt matter how many times you cleaned it, I have had to clean carbs many times before they ran right. I would say clean it again.

I'm still not 100% sure what we are talking about. Is the hose you blow in only connected on one end to the carb and the other end dangling? If so it's a vent. If not what is the other end connected to before you pull it off to blow in it? Just trying to understand which line you're talking about. Maybe you could just extend the line and wear it on your shoulder like a camel back straw, then just blow in it on the fly when she starts to sputter.

For Hondo I would guess the fuel line from the tank to the carb is swollen or the petcock and/or screen has something wrong with it.
Mjerry i would guess a piece of trash is floating around in the carb. When you blow through the vent line your forcing it back into the bowl and then it plugs again later. |

Thanks everyone for your help. I will try cleaning the carb again. Otherwise I may try the camelback idea!. I have had the unit to two different shops, they get it going at the shop, I bring it home, she heats up and back to the same shenanigans.
I have been trying to get a picture up of the hose but I can't figure out this IPhone. I bumped the post because Hondo explained exactly what was happening. I have a mechanic coming out in the next few days, if we get it sorted I will post the fix. Thanks again for all the help Mike |

Thanks for the ideas. I'll try the new hose toodeep and I've thought about the tank screen and back blowed it with air. The stupid petcock nut turns in the tank so I can't get it out.
It's got the diode thing up by the battery messed up on that one now. Hope to have it going by next week. Mjerry are you talking that hose from the top of the carb that sticks into the white plastic piece goes under the fuel tank? I had a spider get in mine once and had to run a wire through it to get it out. |
